Raising the Philippine flag in the field of obstacle sports, over ten Filipinos clinched awards during the OCR100M World Championships in Belgium.

Ending its four-day competition on September 17, the Obstacle Course Racing (OCR) World Championships announced its winners, and Pinoys really showed their skills on the said field, noting the number of athletes from the Philippines who were recognized during the competition.

Some of the athletes that were recognized during the competition were Kevin Pascua, who won the gold medal for the OCR 100 meters category, Julius Obero, who clinched the gold medal award for the P2 OCR 100M World Championships, Aga Casidsid, who gained gold for P5, Renson Embradura, who won gold for 100 meters from P2 to P4, and Andrea Estrella, who won the gold medal for female P5.

Other than gold medals, some Pinoy athletes also paved their way to other categories, winning silver and bronze medals.

With this recent win from the Philippine team, the Pilipinas Obstacle Sports Federation (POSF) showed its appreciation for its athletes and vowed to show continuous support for their future competitions.

“There is no substitute for hard work, consistency, and passion. Our national athletes possess and demonstrate these during the World Obstacle OCR World Championships. They are truly world-class. They are heroes. Proud to be Filipino. Taglay nilang lahat ang makapangyarihang puso,” POSF President Alberto Agra said.

The Pilipinas Obstacle Sports Federation is the official sports group of the Philippines concerning obstacle races and is officially part of the world of obstacle course racing as recognized by the Philippine Olympic Committee.
