At 20, Carlos Yulo is the first Filipino and Southeast Asian male to become a world champion gymnast. Bagging 2 gold and 5 silver medals, the athlete impressed compatriots with his act at the 30th Southeast Asian Games.

On March 2020, Yulo was also granted with the President’s Award at the Philippine Sportswriters Association for all his achievements.

The gymnastics powerhouse made history when he won the title of World Artistic Gymnastics Champions in 2019. Currently, he is on track to qualify for the Tokyo Games on 2021. With his exemplary performance, the pressure is high as he could bring home the country’s first-ever Olympic gold medal.
