At least 126 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections were recorded in Caraga Region from Oct. 23 to 29, the regional Department of Health (DOH-13) office said Thursday.

In its weekly report, the DOH-13 said the cumulative number of Covid-19 cases in the region now stands at 61,977.

To date, the region has 215 remaining active Covid-19 infections, the agency said.

Agusan del Sur province topped the list of new cases with 28, followed by Surigao del Sur with 26; Agusan del Norte, 12; Surigao del Norte, 3; Dinagat Islands, 2.

Among the cities, 23 new cases were also recorded in Butuan, followed by Bislig and Tandag with eight each; Bayugan, 7; Surigao, 5; Cabadbaran, 4.

“Only one recovery was recorded in the region last week bringing the total number of recoveries in the area to 59,444,” the DOH-13 said.

Four new Covid-19-related deaths were also reported in the region in the same period, putting the cumulative figure to 2,318. (PNA)
