A medical technologist (MT) from Surigao del Sur inspired the netizens after she opted to finish her ongoing lab test before leaving the hospital even though a fire broke out in a nearby building.

The incident happened Monday, June 28, 2021, when Jeia Guingue, a medical technologist at Adela Serra Ty Memorial Medical Center in Tandag City, Surigao del Sur, is recognized for choosing to stay and continue crossmatching blood for a newborn patient.

“This happened a few moments after my duty but one brave colleague chose to stay and continue crossmatching blood for a newborn patient.

The real Call of Duty, all in the name of saving the lives of others,” Guingue’s co-worker, Stefan Balani shared on Facebook.

Guingue was praised for her bravery as she chose to finish her crossmatching test before saving herself despite the ongoing fire in a nearby place.
