The city government here has launched its drive-through immunization against the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) to further boost the PinasLakas campaign of the Department of Health (DOH).

The first recipients were some 400 tricycle drivers and their family members as well as other individuals who were inoculated on Sept. 10.

Public Order and Safety Office (POSO) chief Arvin Decano said the drive-through vaccination campaign is being held at the Dagupan City Transport Terminal along the De Venecia highway.

“It will cater to both public and private vehicle owners who would want to avail of the immunization,” he said in a statement on Tuesday.

Decano said the campaign aims to make the inoculation accessible to all citizens so they get the protection they need.

It is a joint program of the DOH, City Mayor’s Office, City Health Office, POSO and the Department of the Interior and Local Government.

“We will coordinate with the drivers whose routes cover Lingayen-Dagupan, Urdaneta-Dagupan, among other routes in the city, to join in the drive-through vaccination for their booster shots or primary series,” he added.

Decano said a sticker for their jeepneys will be given to the drivers as proof they are already vaccinated, aside from the three kilos of rice from the city government.

The drive-through vaccination scheduled Tuesday served 300 individuals from here and even outside of the city who availed of their first or second doses and booster shots.

The next schedule is set on Saturday for motorcycle riders and anyone who wanted to avail of the service from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. (PNA)
