Renowned cruise ship Heritage Adventurer made its final stop in Bucas Grande Island in Socorro town, Surigao del Norte on Sunday.

Bucas Grande, part of the island group in Siargao, is the final leg of the cruise ship’s voyage to the different ports and tourist destinations in the country.

In a statement Monday, the Department of Tourism in the Caraga Region (DOT-13) said 61 passengers from different countries and 10 crew members of Heritage Adventurer made their Sohoton Cove tour during the visit.

“Personnel from DOT-13 and the Socorro town government warmly welcomed the group by giving them leis and drinks,” DOT-13 said.

Among the attractions the travelers visited were the Hagukan Cave, the Diving Cave, and the Jellyfish Sanctuary.

“The cruise’s passengers, upon experiencing the natural beauty and warm hospitality of the town, are likely to share their positive experiences, leading to increased interest in visiting Socorro,” DOT-13 said.

The visit ended on Sunday afternoon as the cruise ship sailed towards Indonesia, its next stopover.

“The tourism industry in Socorro is expected to experience a surge in popularity, thanks to the exposure and interest generated by the Heritage Adventurer’s arrival,” the DOT-13 said.

The town of Socorro is known for its pristine beaches, enchanting lagoons, and breathtaking landscapes. The famous Sohoton Cove, the agency said, is considered a hidden gem of the town waiting to be discovered by travelers from all around the world. (PNA)
