To help teachers improve their knowledge and skills in online teaching, the City Library here will hold two sets of training for teachers from Sept. 28 Oct. 2.

City Information Officer Michiko M. De Jesus told the Philippine News Agency Monday that participants from public and private schools are expected to join the two batches of training at the City Library Training Room.

The training is free of charge.

“This will help our teachers cope with their online classes as a new method of teaching in the midst of the pandemic we are facing now,” De Jesus said, adding that last year, at least 25 teachers attended a similar training.

With the teaching methods adopting the new normal, she said they are expecting more teachers to enroll in the training that delves into online teaching toolkits and hands-on exercises on Google Meet, Zoom, and other digital meeting platforms.

“The teachers can meet their students and have classes through these platforms. With the training we offer, they can familiarize themselves with these programs and make their teachings effective amidst the Covid-19 pandemic,” de Jesus said.

As of Sunday (Sept. 27), this city has a total of 679 Covid-19 cases with 355 recoveries, 297 active cases, and 27 recorded deaths, according to the Department of Health. (PNA)
