After more than 100 days, and still counting, of community quarantine, GMA’s award-winning environmental and wildlife program “Born To Be Wild” returns with all-new episodes beginning Sunday, August 2.

Hosts and expert veterinarians Doc Ferds Recio and Doc Nielsen Donato go back to the outdoors to continue the mission of saving animals.

In Tanay, Rizal, locals seek the help of Born to be Wild when they discover that a pair of endemic North Luzon cloud rats is hiding underneath their roof. The cloud rats have been waiting to be freed since they became “locked down” inside this home in June. Doc Nielsen and his team step into the forest once again to help these endemic animals return to the Sierra Madre mountain range where they belong. For the first time since the declaration of general community quarantine, a wildlife rescue is finally underway.

At the height of lock down, trails were free from hikers and beaches were empty. But in different parts of the country, sea turtles have been found stranded. In Iloilo, five sea turtles were accidentally trapped inside a fish net. The fishermen then banded together to save and release the endangered turtles into the ocean.

Long before the pandemic, Doc Ferds and his team were frequent visitors of a sea turtle rescue facility in Iloilo. Doc Ferds checks on his former sea turtle patients to see how they are doing and to find out if they can still go back to the wild.

Catch these stories and more as Born To Be Wild airs all-new episodes beginning this Sunday, August 2, after AHA! on GMA-7.
