Post-Pandemic Inclusion: A Teaching & Learning Forum, a free Zoom webinar on how to effectively and inclusively teach and learn in new educational arrangements, will be conducted on Thursday, July 7, 2022.

The talk will evaluate the learnings and insights of teachers and students during the pandemic. These reflections are then utilized to become more effective student-centered mentors as institutions of learning slowly conduct limited face-to-face classes.

It will likewise delve on the redesigned approaches to address anticipated challenges today, as well as tackle the important role and contribution of the social media in facilitating and aiding the students in this transition.

Organized by the Center for Inclusive Education (CIE) of the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde in partnership with the Benildean Student Envoys (BSE), Post-Pandemic Inclusion: A Teaching & Learning Forum will be spearheaded by Rogelio Dela Cruz, together with experienced educators Portia De Mesa and Jan Yolec Homecillo.

Dela Cruz, equipped with backgrounds in Counseling Psychology, Anthropology and Learning and Teaching, has taught General Psychology, Personality Theories, Human Behavior in Organization and Sociology and Cultural Anthropology in the different undergraduate programs of the college. He likewise handled graduate classes in Gastronomy and Culture and facilitated courses on Digital Learning in the Workplace for Professionals.

As the Benilde Center for Educational Technology Director, Dela Cruz has integrated technology in his instructional delivery as early as 2002 through websites, online quizzes and discussion forums even before Learning Management Systems were popularized. Considered as the “bridge” between the IT world and the academic community of the college, his experience proved to be one of the important aspects of the digital learning journey.

Meanwhile, De Mesa, who has been teaching the undergraduate students of Benilde since 2008, handles courses such as CSBLIFE, which aims to equip new students with life skills and orient them on the college’s philosophy of learning and culture; as well as the National Service Training Program (NSTP) to enhance the civic consciousness and defense preparedness of the youth. She likewise teaches at Benilde Senior High School.

Homecillo, equipped with a Master of Arts degree focused in Fine Arts and Design from the Philippine Women’s University in Manila, is an arts and design professional who shares his expertise with the young student-artists as a faculty member of Benilde Animation. He is skilled in Computer Animation, Motion Graphics and Virtual Reality Animation.

Post-Pandemic Inclusion: A Teaching & Learning Forum will be conducted via Zoom on Thursday, July 7, 2022, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
