If you happen to encounter Twitter trends related to BTS, BLACKPINK, Red Velvet, or perhaps, #MAMAs2020? That is because the voting for the 2020 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) is now open!

But wait―don’t be too lax for your idols yet, because the points will not entirely come from the fan votes. The breakdown of the criteria for the different categories are as follows:

For the Artist of the Year and Artist Category Awards, it’s 30% coming from official votes, 30% from the judge panel, 20% based on digital song sales, and 20% on physical album sales.

For the Song of the Year and Song Genre Category Awards, it’s 20% initially from official votes, 40% from the judge panel, 30% digital song sales, and 10% physical album sales.

For the Album of the Year, 40% will come from the judge panel, and 60% from the physical album sales.

For Worldwide Icon of the Year, Worldwide Fans’ Choice Top 10, 60% will come from the official votes, 20% social media votes, and 20% global music video views.

And for Best Music Video, it’s 70% from the judge panel, and 30% global music video views.

In order for the entries to be qualified, the songs should have been released from October 24, 2019 to October 28, 2020.

Big Korean superstars such as BLACKPINK, BTS, EXO, GOT7, Hwasa, Park Jin Young, Red Velvet, SEVENTEEN, TWICE, etc., will all compete for the coveted Artist of the Year Award.

Record-breaking song hits like “MORE&MORE”, “Psycho”, “How You Like That”, “Dynamite”, “Obsession”, “Wannabe”, and more are nominated for the Song of the Year Award.
