The Department of Education (DepEd) said that 10 of its 11 personnel who contracted the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) have already recovered.

Dr. Rosalio Conturno Jr., Education Supervisor for School Governance and Operations Division chief of the City Schools Division, said Tuesday the infected personnel include teaching and non-teaching staff.

However, Conturno said the 10 personnel who have recovered have already reported back to work while the remaining one is still receiving treatment.

He said the affected workers were infected in August this year, and not during the distribution of learning modules to the students.

This city has 172 public elementary and 41 public high schools with some 8,000 teachers.

The City Health Office reported that this city has a total of 1,860 Covid-19 cases with 1,290 recoveries, 92 deaths, and 478 active cases as of Monday. (PNA)
