Almost four years after its introduction, the Nintendo Switch now has Bluetooth audio compatibility. The functionality is the sole highlight in today’s Switch system software update v13.0.0, which allows gamers to sync their wireless audio device to their Switch.

There are a few restrictions, according to Nintendo’s support website. When using Bluetooth audio, a Switch can only have two wireless controllers registered. If there are more than two wireless controllers paired to the console, the Switch will disconnect the Bluetooth audio device immediately.

Additional features include the choice to update the firmware of any Switch dock with a LAN port, and also an option to ensure a wired internet service when in Sleep Mode for better connectivity. This, however, is only accessible with Switch OLED equipment, which will be available beginning October 8.

Despite being much newer devices, the Xbox One X and PlayStation 5 will not connect to your Bluetooth headphones. For the time being, that factor is enough to claim that the Switch’s Bluetooth compatibility is superb.
