Great news has just landed for the Philippine youth workforce and prospective employers!

The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), through the Education Development Center (EDC), has just formalized its partnership with Mynimo.com, Cebu’s homegrown online job portal, in running its Opportunity 2.0 program. The Opportunity 2.0 program aims to provide Filipino out-of-school youth the chance to develop professional skills required in the workplace, which could ultimately translate to landing perfect jobs for members of this vulnerable public sector.

In collaboration with DepEd, TESDA, and EDC, USAID’s Opportunity 2.0 provides hope to many out-of-school youth in getting high-quality education and chart a new path towards professional success. Employers on the other hand are given extended reach to this often overlooked source of potential high-caliber job candidates.

With Mynimo.com joining the fold through partnership with EDC, program participants will be offered valuable access toob-matching to appropriate job openings in related-industries, activities that can link Opportunity 2.0 youth graduates to work or other economic opportunities, trainings, bootcamps, and information sessions on preparing for employment or entrepreneurship, participation in the Labor Market Assessment research through Mynimo.com’s current network.

This partnership between Mynimo.com and EDC, planned to run until the 3rd quarter of 2025, targets Cebu City and key sites in Mindanao. The solid backing of USAID and the local market clout of Mynimo.com presents a promising platform for the out-of-school youth to indeed get a second chance at learning, growth, and success.
