Megastar Sharon Cuneta caved in on the surrounding rumors about her daughter, KC Concepcion, being linked to Black Eyed Peas member and The Voice PH coach apl.de.ap.

After a contract renewal on her home channel ABS-CBN, the actor/singer/presenter was surprised about the news and commented, “I don’t know what’s happening to my daughter, in her life. That’s a surprise to me so I don’t know what to say.” On her take on the famed rapper, she stressed, “…I have a lot of respect for apl. He’s a good person. I just wish I heard it from her if it’s true.”

The rumor sparked at a point when Cuneta sensed that KC was being distant to her and her family after the 34-year-old actress failed to show up on her mother’s birthday celebration on the Sunday variety show, ASAP Natin ‘To. She remarked that while her daughter showed up for Christmas Eve, they never really had the opportunity to talk to each other.

This caused KC to address her absence through an apologetic Instagram post to which her mom reacted through a long, emotional Instagram message, spanning 3 posts.

There, she stated, “I miss my baby. I miss you loving me with all your heart. I miss your presence in my life. We are your family. That will never change. I will be here, like I told you, loving you unconditionally no matter what. But allow your Mama some tears when my heart cannot hold them in any longer.”

She also pleaded, “Come back to me, to us. And no – I am not stupid to expect any of my children to be perfect. You all deserve a good bonking-on-the-head every now and then, you gremlins! I don’t expect perfection. Just a bit of attention. Respect. Love. That’s all.”

Her post also aimed to acknowledge the circling mistruths from netizens since KC’s absence on ASAP sparked rumors on social media.

Concepcion has yet to respond to her mother’s posts.

During the press conference for her contract renewal, the Megastar said, “I think it’s normal lang sa mag-ina na may panahong ganyan. I am worried lang because I don’t know what she’s going through.” She reiterated that her concerns about KC is simply “a mother missing her daughter.”

Moreover, with her freshly signed contract with ABS-CBN, the Megastar is slated for more projects with the Kapamilya network, including a movie for Star Cinema and a possible third season of Your Face Sounds Familiar Kids.
