The Bolinao Tourism Office has recorded 333,688 tourist arrivals from January to April this year, higher than the 276,439 during the same period in 2023, the Pangasinan Tourism Office said on Tuesday.

Data show that most of the visitors, at 231,755, are day tourists, while those who stayed at least for a night reached 101,933.

Most of the tourists were from Ilocos Region with 85,065, followed by those from Central Luzon, 41,500; and National Capital Region, 36,530.

Senior Tourism Operations officer Mary De Guzman, in a previous interview, said the most visited destinations are Balingasay River, Bolinao Falls, and Patar Beach.

In 2023, a total of 635,935 tourists visited the different travel destinations in Bolinao, exceeding pre-pandemic levels. The figure is, however, slightly lower than the 642,603 recorded in 2022.

De Guzman attributed this development to tourism officials’ decision to not focus on marketing due to ongoing infrastructure projects in the town, including the convention center, and the procurement of lands in the proposed Bolinao airport. (PNA)
