Apple released the iOS 15.4 updates last Tuesday, March 15. The latest update includes new features, updates, and changes, including a mask-friendly Face ID Recognition.
Unlike the previous updates, iOS 15.4 allows users to unlock their phones even while wearing a mask. However, this feature is only available for iPhone 12 and newer models.
In iOS 15.4, Face ID can recognize the unique features around your eye area. So you can unlock your iPhone 12 or iPhone 13 and use Apple Pay while wearing a face mask.

The latest update also features a new set of emojis, including faces, hand gestures, and household objects. Similar to the other emojis, iOS 15.4 allows users to select separate skin colors for each hand on the handshake emoji.
iOS 15.4 also includes a new update for Siri, Apple’s virtual voice assistant. Users of iPhone XS, iPhone XR, iPhone 11, and the latest iPhone models can now ask Siri for time and date information when it’s connected to the internet. The update included an additional voice for Siri, expanding the users’ diversity of options.
The update also saves time for users who type in their handwritten notes, recipes, and other documents. With iOS 15.4, users can now scan printed or handwritten text into the Notes app. The update includes a feature wherein the camera in the keyboard can be used to add text to the Notes and Reminders app.
