Apple released the iOS 15.4 updates last Tuesday, March 15. The latest update includes new features, updates, and changes, including a mask-friendly Face ID Recognition.

Unlike the previous updates, iOS 15.4 allows users to unlock their phones even while wearing a mask. However, this feature is only available for iPhone 12 and newer models.

The latest update also features a new set of emojis, including faces, hand gestures, and household objects. Similar to the other emojis, iOS 15.4 allows users to select separate skin colors for each hand on the handshake emoji.

iOS 15.4 also includes a new update for Siri, Apple’s virtual voice assistant. Users of iPhone XS, iPhone XR, iPhone 11, and the latest iPhone models can now ask Siri for time and date information when it’s connected to the internet. The update included an additional voice for Siri, expanding the users’ diversity of options.

The update also saves time for users who type in their handwritten notes, recipes, and other documents. With iOS 15.4, users can now scan printed or handwritten text into the Notes app. The update includes a feature wherein the camera in the keyboard can be used to add text to the Notes and Reminders app.

iOS 15.4 includes a feature of Close-Up in Magnifier for the ultra-wide cameras of iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max which can be beneficial if having difficulties in seeing small objects.

Other features of iOS 15.4 include the Reminder app’s features of adding, removing or querying tags in Shortcuts, Emergency SOS updated settings, Saved Passwords’ inclusion of notes in Settings, and that iCloud custom email domains can now be managed from Settings.

Users can check Apple Support for more information. Apple also released iPadOS 15.4 and macOS 12.3 updates alongside iOS 15.4.
