The ninth generation of Pokemon games was announced in a Pokemon Presents presentation on Sunday, during the 26th anniversary of Pokemon Red and Green’s original release in Japan.

Scarlet and Violet, produced by Game Freak, will be even more open-world than the recently released Pokemon Legends: Arceus, with villages that flow smoothly into the woods and no borders. Depending on the game you play, your wardrobe will change.

With the newest chapters in the Pokemon series, Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet, the series takes its evolutionary step anew allowing fans to explore freely in a richly expressed “open world”, suggesting an exciting change from the typical core Pokemon games.

During the end of the Pokemon company’s 14-minute broadcast, a quick preview for the most-awaited Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet was showcased, leaving fans astounded and thrilled to have witnessed the mix of idyllic pastures in a lively city area with tons of Pokemon.

The Pokemon Company also brought a different level of excitement to fans with the three new Pokemon starters wherein users can freely choose as partners among the three: Sprigatito, the attention-seeking Grass Cat Pokemon; Quaxly, an earnest and tidy Duckling Pokemon; and Fuecoco, the laid-back Fire Croc Pokemon that does things at its own pace.
