5. “New Divide” from Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009)

Yes, maybe “What I’ve Done” should have been #5 but, I guess, what makes “New Divide” take the spot is the fact that the sequel movie was overwhelmingly met with negative reviews yet still managed to become 2009’s fourth highest-grossing film. So who do we have to thank for that? Spielberg? The writers? Special effects? Linkin Park? Even if all had a contribution to the movie’s overwhelming commercial success, despite being bashed by critics, given that the American rock band already made a previous great lasting impression to those who saw the first film then having another one of their songs be featured for the second has definitely made an appreciable difference to those who saw it—whether one liked the plot or not. The song features heavy use of drums, a prominently heard electric guitar and a synth-layered background that, all together, provides that signature Linkin Park sound everybody has come to know and love.
