More than 1,500 senior citizens in this city were administered with flu vaccine on Tuesday to boost their fight against coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).

A statement from the city information office said through the Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs and City Health Office, a total of 1,551 elderlies from the 25 barangays here were vaccinated for free.

Mayor Cristy Angeles believed that through the immunization program, the cases of Covid-19 in the city will decline especially among the senior citizens.

Meanwhile, Tarlac province logged 17 new recoveries from Covid-19, of whom nine are from this city.
