Award-winning Korean actress Song Hye Kyo becomes the first-ever Korean artist to bag the grand prize (Daesang) of the 2023 Blue Dragon Series Awards for her outstanding role as the main protagonist in the hit Korean drama series “The Glory.”

Organized by Sports Chosun on July 19, the Blue Dragon Series Awards returned this year for their 2nd annual awards ceremony, recognizing exceptional dramas and variety shows produced by streaming platforms and artists alike.
In its second year, the Blue Dragon Series Awards introduced new award categories, namely the Daesang (Grand Prize), OST Popularity Award, and Why Not Award, which is given to works that inspire change in streaming services through unique ideas.

While “The Glory” star Song Hye Kyo took home the Daesang, DKZ’s Jaechan’s “Our Season” won the OST Popularity Award, and “Weak Hero Class 1″ actor Choi Hyun Wook earned the Why Not Award.

Prior to her first Daesang, Song Hye Kyo won her first Best Actress prize for starring in “The Glory” at the 59th Baeksang Arts Award last April 28.

The 2nd Blue Dragon Series Award was held at Incheon’s Paradise City with Girls’ Generation’s YoonA and Jun Hyun Moo as the returning hosts.
