The local Inter-Agency Task Force on coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) said an elderly has been confirmed positive for Covid-19 infection.

Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar, IATF on Covid-19 chairperson, said Thursday the confirmed case patient is a 94-year old female from Veterans Avenue with no history of travel.

“She is currently confined in a private hospital,” Salazar said without elaborating how she contracted with the dreaded disease.

The latest confirmed case has brought to seven the confirmed Covid-19 cases–including the two patients who are front-liners in Manila listed by the Department of Health (DOH) under the city as they are residents here.

“Once again, we remind the public to please remain calm and to remain home. At this time, the best course of action to take is to stay home, maintain social distancing, and practice regular hand washing,” Salazar said.

As of as April 7, this city has recorded 102 patients under investigation (PUI) and 3,743 persons under monitoring.

Meanwhile, the local task force has launched a campaign dubbed as “do your duty, be honest with your Covid history” to protect the health care front-liners against the dreaded disease.

“In their fight against Covid-19, our doctors and health workers need accurate and correct information not only to determine the best care treatment for patients but also to protect themselves,” Salazar said.

“In solidarity with our city’s medical and health teams, we urge all residents to be honest and to give truthful information to questions related to symptoms, travel history, and exposure so that we will beat Covid-19 together,” she added. (PNA)
