Singer and former One Direction band member Zayn Malik makes a surprising appearance on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast hosted by Alex Cooper, his first interview after six years when he was still with the band.

The “Call Her Daddy” podcast first posted the teaser of Zayn’s interview on their Instagram account on July 11.

Shocking One Direction fans as they hear Zayn’s “speaking voice” after a long time as he talks about his life, career, and daughter Khai with ex-partner Gigi Hadid.

In the teaser, Zayn talked about One Direction being “overexposed” to interviews and other promotional activities, resulting in his intentional break from doing those as he does not have high energy like the people he previously engaged with.

He clarified in the interview that he’s just a “chill” person, but having Khai as her daughter made him go the extra mile, such as doing interviews with “Call Her Daddy,” to be a good example to her.

When asked about his “dad quality” that he is proud of, Zayn said he’s leaning into “dad jokes” as he’s already a father now, even though some people find it weird.

The Call Her Daddy episode “Zayn: For the First Time in 6 Years,” which is out now on Spotify, explores the life of Zayn throughout the years, from his pre-fame days until he became a father, and how that responsibility has shifted his priorities.

On July 10, Zayn posted a teaser of his upcoming single “Love Like This” on his Instagram, which will be released on music platforms on July 21.
