The Laguna provincial government launched its first chemotherapy center on Wednesday at the Laguna Medical Center (LMC) in Santa Cruz town, improving access to cancer treatment across the province.

Provincial information officer Danilo Lucas, in a statement, said the center provides free services to qualified patients, emphasizing the government’s commitment to inclusive healthcare.

“The newly established facility is expected to ease the burden of patients who previously had to travel outside the province for chemotherapy treatment,” Lucas said.

Patients also receive a free half cavan of rice to support their daily needs during treatment and recovery, he added.

To access services, patients must register with the Provincial Health Office (PHO) and secure an appointment with an oncologist for assessment and treatment planning.

The project resulted from collaboration among the PHO, Laguna Health Team, and We Hope Medical Group.

During the inauguration, Governor Sol Aragones expressed her joy about the new chemotherapy center.

“We’re happy. Success! The first chemotherapy center we promised in Laguna is now here,” she said. (PNA)
