Commemorating his huge impact on the Philippine media and broadcasting industry, Filipino personalities sent their heartfelt messages for the passing of veteran news anchor Mike Enriquez.

On August 29, it was confirmed by Mike’s relatives that the news anchor had passed away at the age of 71, a few days before his birthday in September.

Known as a veteran journalist and broadcaster in the country, Mike has become a legend in both his television and radio appearances, particularly in giving news information to Filipinos.

Following this sad news about Mike’s death, news personality Arnold Clavio penned a short but emotional message on his Instagram account, along with their dance cover with Mike.

“Paalam aking Ama, kaibigan, mentor, kasabwat, boss at higit sa lahat ‘tagapagtanggol.’ Sabi mo , walang iwanan! Ang daya mo! Ang alaala mo ay mananatiling buhay sa isipan at damdamin ng maraming Pilipino. Salamat at hanggang sa muling pagkikita.” Arnold said.

In the said post, other Filipino personalities such as Ogie Alcasid, Christine Babao, and Miriam Quiambao also penned their messages to the veteran news anchor, noting his dedication to delivering righteous news.

“Nakikiramay kami. You are so blessed to have spent so much time with a man like Sir Mike. The broadcasting industry mourns the passing of another news icon,” Christine Babao said.

Other than online posts, broadcasters from almost all television networks also expressed their deepest condolences to the news anchor during their news airing.
