Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Martin Andanar supported anew the establishment of capacity-building initiatives that will help hone the leadership skills and confidence of the youth.

During the Cabinet Officer for Regional Development and Security for Northern Mindanao (CORDS 11) Podcast on September 11, Andanar praised the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation of Bukidnon for demonstrating their genuine care for their community amid the threats posed by the pandemic.

“Kung atong mapalambo ang atong kabatan-onan, matudluan og mga mapuslanon nga life skills, pagkaresponsable, self-confidence, ug ang pinaka-importante, compassion, maka-establish kita og capable ug effective leaders para sa atong sumusunod na henerasyon (If we are able to develop our youth–teaching them with valuable life skills, being responsible, self-confidence, and the most important, teaching them how to be compassionate–we will be able to establish capable and effective leaders for generations to come),” he said.

“Atong ikalipay ug ikapasigarbo atong mga kabatan-onan sa Bukidnon, kay sila, ang embodiment, ang buhing saksi, sa katakus ug kamaayo sa atong kabatan-onan karon (The youth of Bukidnon is our delight and pride because they are the embodiment, the living proof, of the importance of our youth today),” he added.

Bukidnon SK President Princess Grace Gayon was a guest of the program, where she discussed some of the programs they have undertaken to capacitate the youth in partnership with the Bukidnon provincial government.

Gayon also urged the youth to take advantage of their grit to help the country.

“Make use of the opportunity to be a partner of the government in order to protect our future. Remember that we will not stay young for long. We should have the initiative to fight for a brighter future,” she said. (PNA)
