The city government collected on Friday 511 kilograms of campaign materials during its post-election cleanup drive, with plans to recycle the waste for environmental projects.

The City Local Environment and Natural Resources Office (CLENRO) led “Oplan Baklas,” removing election posters and repurposing materials.

“Wooden frames will be reused for community initiatives, while plastic materials will become seedling pots for reforestation,”CLENRO said in a statement Friday.

Meanwhile, the Northern Mindanao Medical Center partnered with the Environmental Management Bureau (EMB-10) and Ban Toxics to reduce healthcare waste pollutants.

The collaboration, supported by a UN Industrial Development Organization grant, focuses on eliminating mercury and organic pollutants from medical waste.

“This demonstrates our commitment to environmentally responsible healthcare,” EMB-10 Director Reynaldo Digamo Jr. said. (PNA)
