Sherwin Sangalan, a proud Blaan tribe member and emerging vlogger from Sarangani province, recently captured the attention of netizens with his heartwarming story of resilience and triumph.

Sangalan’s viral Facebook and TikTok posts recounting his experience as a Jollibee crew member, where he boldly wore doll shoes on his first day, has touched the lives of countless individuals on social media platforms.

During an exclusive interview with PAGEONE, Sangalan revealed that on his first day as a ground crew at Jollibee SM GenSan, his supervisor noticed his sub-standard shoe uniform.

“First day ko sa Jollibee, nag-doll shoes ako kasi wala akong pambili ng sapatos. Iniisip ko na lang ang aking pangarap na makapagtapos ng pag-aaral bilang isang working student,” Sangalan shared.

When questioned about his choice of footwear, Sangalan humorously responded with, “Bayot ser” (Sir, I’m gay), and candidly admitted that he couldn’t afford proper shoes.

“Abi nako tanggalon ko sa work kung di ko ka duty sa first day (I thought I would be sent home on my first day if I didn’t present myself),” Sangalan shared. Despite feeling embarrassed, he remained steadfast in his determination to perform on that day to provide for his family and pursue his dreams as a working student.

Through sheer perseverance and a positive outlook on life, Sangalan transformed his struggles into success. Today, he proudly provides for his family, has completed his studies, and even renovated their home.

Reflecting on his journey, Sangalan emphasizes the importance of gratitude and perseverance. He encourages others facing similar challenges never to lose hope, reminding them that success is attainable through hard work and faith.

“Ako yung tipo na wala akong kakampi. Kaya NEVEEEEEEER i-question ang life and always be thankful (I’m the type who doesn’t have any allies. That’s why I never question life and always be thankful),” Sangalan asserted, reflecting on his past struggles and the importance of trusting in life’s journey and embracing the results with gratitude.

Sangalan’s story serves as a beacon of hope for countless individuals, who now use his substantial following on Facebook and TikTok to spread good vibes and share his inspiring journey with others.
