Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Governor Eli Remolona Jr. on Thursday welcomed Department of Finance (DOF) Secretary Frederick Go as member of the Monetary Board (MB).

In a news press release, the BSP said Go serves as the Cabinet Representative to the MB, central bank’s highest policy-making body chaired by the BSP Governor.

This was after President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. appointed Go as DOF chief in November 2025 replacing Ralph Recto, who is now Executive Secretary.

Go, in a statement, said he is honored to be part of the MB and thanked Marcos for his continued trust and confidence.

“I will pursue the strategic alignment of fiscal and monetary policies in support of the Board’s mandate to maintain price stability and safeguard our financial system. I look forward to working with my fellow Monetary Board members in building an economy that is resilient, robust, and inclusive to every Filipino,” he said.

The other MB members are Benjamin Diokno, Romeo Bernardo, Rosalia De Leon, Jose Querubin, and Walter Wassmer. (PNA)
