In their Top 13 Filipino Noodle Dishes, global food guide TasteAtlas places pancit palabok at the top of their list, besting pancit Malabon and pancit bihon which many Filipinos also love.

Pancit Malabon sits at No. 2 while pancit bihon is at the third spot, followed by pancit at No. 4 and pancit canton at the fifth spot.

“Pancit palabok is a traditional Filipino dish consisting of thin rice noodles doused in a creamy shrimp-infused sauced and complemented with various toppings such as hard-boiled eggs, pork cracklings, shrimps, pork, fish flakes, and scallions,” TasteAtlas described.

Unlike Chinese-influenced noodle dishes pancit canton and bihon, palabok’s ingredients are assembled in layers, setting it apart.

Palabok’s regional and revamped versions prove that it is a national favorite, especially during special and festive occasions like Christmas.

The complete list of the Top 13 Filipino Noodle Dishes is as follows
