Senator Win Gatchalian has put to task the Department of Finance in providing for sufficient budget and in sparing the taxpayers from being choked by new borrowings to fund next year's obligations of the Murang Kuryente Act.

"Sa pagpapatuloy ng edukasyon sa panahon ng pandemya ng COVID-19, hindi lamang ang paraan ng pagtuturo ang dapat nating tutukan. Kailangang siguruhin din natin na tama ang mga araling itinuturo natin sa ating mga kabataan. Sa pagsuri natin sa bawat aralin, ang kaalaman ng mahigit 22 milyong mag-aaral ang nakasalalay."

Senator Win Gatchalian is eyeing more centers of excellence that will boost the quality of education and training for the country's aspiring teachers.

The Teachers Education Council will institutionalize the National Educators Academy of the Philippines, the Department of Education's professional development arm, which will provide and streamline professional development of teachers and school leaders.

Gatchalian sounds the alarm on the low passing rates of the Licensure Examination for Teachers as he reiterates the need to improve the quality of teacher education and training in the country.

"Ngayong nagsimula na ang klase, lalo nating dapat tutukan ang kalusugan ng bawat guro at non-teaching staff lalo na't sila ang nagsisilbing mga frontliners sa pagpapatupad ng distance learning sa gitna ng pandemya."
