Following US President Donald Trump’s an executive order to ban TikTok, the company has finally launched a legal action because it’s been a year and the administration has “no attention to facts”.

ByteDance, owner of TikTok, denied the accusations of US administration that they could pass personal data of American users on Chinese Government. The application has 80 million users from US.

ByteDance’s spokesperson said, “To ensure that the rule of law is not discarded and ByteDance and users are treated fairly, they don’t have a choice but to challenge the executive order through the judicial system.”

In addition, a group of Chinese-Americans filed different lawsuit against the administration due to the WeChat incident.

Despite this, Trump claimed that Chinese government can use said applications to track and collect personal information of employees for blackmailing and for spying companies.

“It threatens the national security, foreign policy, and economy of the United States” Trump said, which TikTok denies these accusations.

United States is not the only country who has banned the app. Australia is currently planning to do so, while India has already barred Tiktok.
